تتمتع الرواشين الحجازية في منطقة (جدة البلد) بتراث ثري غني بالتفاصيل الهندسية، وهي عبارة عن مجموعه من الخطوط الهندسية والتكوينات الزخرفية والنقوش الأثرية ذات الخصائص الجمالية. وجاءت هذه الإبداعات ثمرة لجهود فنانين وحرفيين تعاقب حضورهم إلى مدينة
(جدة) فتشكلت هذه الأعمال نتيجة خبرات فنية وحرفية متعددة وبناء على ذلك تم توظيف هذه الزخارف في المباني الحديثة واستثمار الروشن الحجازي ليس كعنصر معماري فقط وظيفياً فحسب بل باعتباره نصاً بصرياً جمالي يحمل دلالات سيموطيقية (علامتيه) عميقة تعكس ثقافة المجتمع في العمارة الحجازية وبناءً على ما سبق يهدف البحث إلى دراسة وتحليل تلك الزخارف واستخلاص القيم الجمالية والرمزية للروشن وإعادة توظيفها وتجريدها لتجميل واجهات المباني المعاصرة مما يوجد لغة وحواراَ جمالياً بين الأصالة العربية والحداثة المعاصرة .وأعتمد البحث على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي في قراءة وتحليل الروشن الحجازي سيموطيقياً والمنهج التطبيقي لاقتراح إستراتيجيات توظيفه حديثا في المبان المعاصرة بهدف استمرار الهوية وبلغة معاصرة تتوافق مع تقنيات البناء الحديثة .
