يتناول البحث العلاقة بين التصميم الكرافيكي الرقمي والاستدامة البيئية، فمع تزايد العدد الحالي للقضايا البيئية، يسعى المصممون جاهدين لإيجاد طرائق لإدراج الممارسات المستدامة في تصميماتهم. يبحث هذا البحث في إسهام التصميم الكرافيكي في تعزيز الاستدامة والآثار الناتجة والتحديات التي يوجهها المصممون، بما في ذلك تلك المتعلقة باعتماد التصميم الكرافيكي المستدام. من هذا البحث يمكن للمرء رسم ممارسات تصميم مبتكرة ومستدامة، في كيفية دمجها في الاعمال والطرائق التي يمكن عن طريقها تقليل الآثار السلبية لأعمال التصميمية على البيئة، فيتناول البحث مفهوم الاستدامة البيئية ويحدد منهجيات تطور الاستدامة في المجال عن طريق تطبيق أنظمة دورة الحياة في التفكير كما يشمل دراسة مبادئ الاستدامة، وكيفية تحويل التصميم الكرافيكي لخدمة هذا المفهوم من أجل تحقيق تصميم مستدام ناجح مع التركيز على المسؤولية الاجتماعية والبيئية والاقتصادية لمصمم الكرافيك الذي يواجه العالم اليوم.
